Book Nook: Punia and the King of Sharks

Charlotte has now checked out Punia and the King of Sharks: a Hawaiian Folktale by Lee Wardlaw three times, so I think it’s safe to say it’s a favourite. Punia is a clever but poor boy who outsmarts the King of sharks to get some lobsters for his mother and himself. His own father died trying to steal the shark king’s lobsters, but Punia manages to trick the sharks multiple times until he convinces the sharks to leave the lobster cove forever. It’s a fun story, and I can see why Charlotte loves reading it.
